With the continuous advancement of ICT in education, the development of ICT in education in China has gradually changed from attaching importance to the allocation of digital educational resources in schools to emphasizing its in-depth application, integration and innovation in education. This study constructs the application model of basic education informatization in China from three aspects of application context, application subject and application tool, selects the core indicators of informatization application. The comprehensive index is used to calculate the ICT application index of basic education in all provinces of China. At the same time, the differences of ICT application development in the eastern, central and western regions are measured and analyzed. The results show that there are obvious provincial and regional differences in the application of ICT application in primary and secondary schools in China, and the overall development of ICT application in basic education is not balanced.
