At present, the development of educational technology has encountered new challenges: the rapid development of education needs educational technology increasingly, but there is a lack of academic identity of educational technology inside and outside the industry. Two long-term orientations of technical orientation and pedagogical orientation have caused the problem of institutional orientation in the development of the discipline. To solve those problems, we need to re-examine the disciplinary nature and internal disciplinary structure of educational technology. From the perspective of phenomenology, this paper analyzes the relationship between education and technology, and holds that both media theory and method theory focus on the instrumental rationality and economic rationality of technology. In order to solve the fundamental problems of the disciplinary development of educational technology, this paper proposes that it is necessary to reconstruct educational technology with the relationship theory from the holistic standpoint of education-people-technology. Moreover, this paper discusses the relationship theory of educational technology from four aspects of integrity, complexity, two-way interaction and dynamic adaptability.
