    人工智能赋能:高校学科建设的创新与发展 ——访中国工程院院士陈杰教授

陈杰院士从人工智能与学科建设的角度,就人工智能发展缘起、对高校学科建设的影响、高校具体推进案例等方面提出了诸多有价值的建议。他指出:当今的人工智能已经超出信息科学本身的研究边界,将赋能传统学科、加速不同学科间的交叉融合,进一步开放各学科的边界,衍生出新的学科增长点,推动交叉学科知识创新发展,形成多学科深度交叉、协同发展的局面。他关注人工智能人才培养,就高校纷纷建立人工智能学院、研究院,开设人工智能专业,建议要结合人工智能的特点,针对人工智能人才需求,加强人工智能基础前沿研究,强调人工智能学科对其他学科的赋能。借鉴美国等发达国家的经验,结合同济大学人工智能学科建设给出了初步的“人工智能+”学科建设的实践路径。


【英文摘要】:

From the perspective of artificial intelligence and discipline construction , CHEN Jie, an academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, has put forward many valuable suggestions on the origin of Artificial Intelligence (AI), its impacts on discipline construction in colleges and universities, and the case study at Tongji University. He proposes that today's AI is beyond the border of information science itself, and will empower traditional disciplines, accelerate the convergence of different disciplines, further open up the borders of various disciplines and derive growth points of disciplines. As a result, it will promote the innovative development of interdisciplinary knowledge and create a situation in which multiple disciplines intersect and cooperate with each other. He also pays attention to the talents cultivation of AI. Since many colleges and universities have established AI colleges or research institutes, and offered AI majors, he advises to combine the characteristics of AI, to analyze the talent needs of AI, to strengthen the basic frontier research of AI and to emphasize the impacts of AI on other disciplines. By referring to the experience of AI talents cultivation from USA and other developed countries, combined with AI discipline construction of Tongji University, a preliminary exploration of "AI+" discipline construction has been outlined.
