为了对MOOCs的高退学率有一个更为深入的认识,本研究对10名参加了某一门课程而又中途退出的学习者进行访谈,让其用自己的声音分享他们对MOOCs的经验以及中途退出的想法、态度和观点。采用NVivo作为分析工具,按照扎根理论的“三级编码”要求对10篇访谈文本的数据进行分析和讨论,获得了以下研究结果:(1)MOOCs高退学率的原因可归结为四大类属及其下属的14个因素;(2)“缺乏积极的动机”与“自我管理和自我激励的能力不足”是导致学习者中途退出的最主要原因;(3)“高退学率”或许本来就是“开放”的一种表现,将其作为贬义词看待是不恰当的,它至少应是一个中性词,需要根据不同的语境加以具体分析。


【英文摘要】:

In order to have a deeper understanding of the high dropout rate of MOOCs, this study interviews 10 learners who dropped out of a course and shared their learning experience, their ideas, attitudes and views about dropout as well. Using NVivo as an analytical tool, this paper analyzes the data of 10 interview texts according to the "three-level coding" of grounded theory. The results indicate the reasons for high dropout rate of MOOCs can be attributed to 4 categories and 14 subordinate factors.Lacking positive motivation and lacking self-management and self-motivation are two main reasons. Moreover, the high dropout rate may be a manifestation of “openness”, so it is inappropriate to regard it as a derogatory term. It should be at least a neutral word, which needs to be analyzed specifically in different contexts.
